A Firm Foundation - Turlock Christian Year End Giving Opportunities
In First Timothy 6, Paul encourages Timothy to teach people how to build “a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.” The key to living a vital and fulfilled life is to live life with eternal values in view.
You, as Christian parents and grandparents, and we at Turlock Christian School are partners in teaching TC students how to lay a firm foundation that leads to living life fully – in time and eternity. What a privilege!
A Firm Academic Foundation At Turlock Christian, we seek to help every student lay a firm foundation by achieving their full academic potential. Challenging curriculum and well-prepared, highly-effective teachers are essential in laying this part of a firm foundation.
A Firm Relational Foundation The more developed a person’s relational skills, the greater impact and success they will experience. Therefore, TC values helping students lay a solid relational foundation marked by strong people skills.
A Firm Spiritual Foundation As a Christian school, TC highly values helping students lay a firm spiritual foundation. Being a “Christian” school is more than having Bible classes and chapel, important though they may be. It’s about infusing Biblical knowledge, a Biblical world-view and Biblical values into every aspect of the school and therefore into the life of every student.
A Convergence in Time These last weeks of 2019 leading to the dawn of the New Year, represent a wonderful series of opportunities to help lay a firm foundation of another kind. A foundation of generosity. Thanksgiving offers an opportunity to give out of gratitude – thankfulness for God’s generosity toward us.
Christmas allows us to give generously to others in recognition of God’s ultimate gift, His Son Jesus, who provided the gift of salvation.
And year-end provides an opportunity to give wisely and often even more generously, as a result of tax law designed to encourage charitable giving by all Americans.
A Firm Financial Foundation
With the arrival of Thanksgiving, Christmas and year-end, I am inviting you to pray about what God might want you to do to help lay a firm financial foundation at Turlock Christian School. Here are a few areas where your gifts will enable our school to lay firm academic, relational and spiritual foundations in the lives of our students.
Faculty and Staff Support
Professional development funding for teachers
Appreciation for over-and-above efforts by teachers and staff
Supplement teacher salaries
Safety and Security upgrades on both the Preschool and Jr-Sr High campuses. Though a great deal of attention and money has been invested in safety and security, recent lock-down experiences highlighted areas where improvement is needed. Funding will help provide additional fencing, cameras, and necessary lock-down and lock-out equipment and supplies.
Updating Math and Social Studies curriculum for the Elementary grades. Though teachers are being very creative and aggressive in using supplementary resources, we are in great need of purchasing new core curriculum in these areas.
Promethean Boards – A number of these vital classroom teaching tools have “aged out” becoming unreliable and in critical need of replacement.
Servers on the Jr-Sr High campus are well past their normal, expected lifespan. They need replacing before fail completely, causing a major disruption.
Go Guardian We are upgrading our ability to monitor student use of technology by purchasing and installing Go Guardian which allows teachers to monitor in real-time every Chromebook in their classroom. Teachers can take screenshots of student screens and immediately stop the use of inappropriate sites during class.
Desks and tables on the Jr-Sr High campus that even duct tape can no longer repair!
I am proud of how wisely my staff is prioritizing these and other critical expenditures, but I would be grateful beyond words to be able to fund all these needs and more as 2020 arrives. Completing these projects and meeting these needs would be a profound encouragement to our teachers and an indication to our students about how highly valued they are.
My list could be longer, but just the things listed above is a $200,000+ dream.
